The vehicle eventually came to rest in a creek bed.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but sadly, there was nothing they could do to save the male driver.

Police said he died at the scene before he could be taken to hospital.

A second man who had been sitting in the front passenger seat was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Police said he was taken to Westmead Hospital for “observation”.

Local traffic diversions were in place around the crash site this morning while the scene was examined.
