Driver killed after car leaves highway and slams into tree

A MAN has died after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree in Sydney’s west.

It happened on the Great Western Highway at Werrington just after 3pm on Friday.

Police said they arrived to find a vehicle into a tree near Water Street.


Sadly the driver, a man believed to be aged in his 50s, could not be saved and died at the scene.

Police were still working to formally identify the man at the time of writing.

No one else was travelling in the car at the time.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
