Driver killed, three passengers critical after car hits tree

A young man has died and three others are fighting for life, after a car slammed into a tree north of Brisbane.

The 23-year-old male driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle on Samsonvale Road at Bray Park around 11.35pm on Friday.

“The vehicle left the roadway, mounted the gutter and collided with a large tree,” Police explained in a statement.

“A 23-year-old man from Windsor was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“Three other people in the car – two men and a woman, all from Brisbane and aged 19, 22 and 22- sustained critical injuries and were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Hospital.”

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
