Driver, passenger killed in horror crash

TWO people from the same car have been killed in a horror crash in the NSW Hunter Valley.

It happened at Castle Rock, 15km west of Muswellbrook about 6.30pm on Saturday.

Police said a Holden Commodore was turning into Bengalla Road from Wybong Road when it collided with a Ford ute.

Sadly, the driver of the sedan, a 20-year-old woman, and her 22-year-old male passenger died at the scene.

Police said the young couple was from Singleton.

The 35-year-old man driving the ute sustained facial injuries and was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital for treatment.

He has also undergone drug and alcohol testing, as is mandatory with every serious traffic collision.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information about the crash to call Muswellbrook Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
