Driver seriously injured in head-on crash

A MAN has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition following a head-on crash west of Brisbane.

The 23-year-old was driving one of two cars involved in the smash on Forest Hill Fernvale Road at Lowood about 2.20pm on Friday.

He was badly injured and and flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

The 63-year-old man driving the second car was taken to Ipswich Hospital with less serious injuries.

His female passenger, also 63, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
