The Federal Government has announced a cash payment scheme to help drought suffering farmers across Australia.
Drought-affected producers will be able to receive cash payments of up to $12,000 for couples or $7,200 for singles.
However, there is concern these funds aren’t large enough and will be received too slowly.

Farmers across Australia have been battling with the decision to hand feed live stock as feed prices soar.
As part of the funding, there is also a commitment to mental health services.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told Channel 9 it’s a bleak time.
“That’s why I’ve stepped in to put more money onto their tables so those that are doing it really tough have more cash,” he said.
“We want to keep body and soul together, and that will flow cash into the local communities.”
