Gold Coast ride share driver busted driving drunk

A RIDE share driver has been charged after he was allegedly caught drink driving on the Gold Coast.

The 52-year-old man from Ashmore was allegedly more than three times over the limit when pulled over by police in Surfers Paradise on Wednesday morning.

He was intercepted by officers at an RBT site on Orchid Avenue about 11.50am.

It is alleged the driver blew 0.180 – more than three times the legal limit.

The Ashmore man was arrested and charged with one count of driving under the influence of liquor.

He is scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 20.
