Ducks halt traffic on Gold Coast’s M1

A family of ducks have decided to go for a morning stroll across the Pacific Motorway, causing lengthy delays for motorists heading to work.

The adorable animals have brought traffic to a halt northbound at Mudgeeraba, near Gooding drive at Exit 77.

Police and transport crews are on scene with a rescue operation now underway to remove the animals safely.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads says all lanes in the area have been affected.

Motorists are being urged to drive with caution.
