UPDATE: EIGHT people have been taken hospital, one in a critical condition, following a fiery five car crash on the M1 at Coomera this morning.
Police said the accident happened after a southbound truck collided with a vehicle around 9.25am, causing it to burst into flames.
A further three cars were damaged and northbound lanes were closed for around two hours, all of which have since been reopened.

In total, eight people were transported to the Gold Coast and Robina hospitals with various injuries.
One woman is described as being in a critical condition, while another three women and three men suffered only minor injuries.
An infant was also transported to hospital for observations only.
Major traffic delays are expected to continue for some time while the forensic crash unit investigates.

Rebecca Dakin reported a woman was transported serious to hospital, along with up to six other patients, including a child, after two trucks and four cars collided on the stretch near Dreamworld, sending cars spinning across all lanes.
One car burst into flames after impact. Northbound lanes have been closed and motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
