Elderly man charged for drug trafficking on the Gold Coast

An elderly man has been charged with multiple drug trafficking offences, after police allegedly found a large quantity of cannabis and cash at a Palm Beach residence.

Detectives executed a search warranty of the Cypress Terrace North unit on Friday August 2, where they allegedly uncovered 1.25 kilograms of cannabis, and $8,445 in cash.

Police will allege the cash was the proceeds of drug trafficking.

A 75-year-old man was charged with multiple drug offences, including drug trafficking, supply of a dangerous drug, producing a dangerous drug, possessing a dangerous drug, receiving receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, possessing anything for use in the commission of crime and authority required to possess explosives (ammunition).

He’ll appear in Coolangatta court next month.

Seriously just make weed legal already. What a waste of tax payers money for the police time, court time, jail time. All for someone who might of earned like 10 grand selling that.
