Elderly man goes missing after picking up pizza for lunch

POLICE hold serious concerns for an elderly man who has failed to return home after picking up a pizza for lunch.

Peter Tawton, 72, was last seen around 1pm on Sunday when he left his Terranora home to collect pizza in Tweed Heads South.

It’s been confirmed that Mr Tawton collected the pizza at around 1.30pm but hasn’t been seen since.

His family reported him missing to Tweed Heads police at 7.15pm last night.

He was driving a white Hyundi Getz with NSW registration BT 74 WC.

Police and Mr Tawton’s family have serious concerns for his welfare as it is out of character for him to go missing.

He is described as Caucasian, of a medium build, 183cm tall with grey hair, and last seen wearing blue denim shorts and leather shoes.
