UPDATE: A MAN has died after he was attacked by a shark in waters off Western Australia on Monday afternoon.
Early reports suggest the man was mauled in waters off Cheynes Beach, 65km east of Albany, about 12.20pm local time.
It’s understood a member of the public raised the alarm after finding the man’s lifeless and bloodied body in the water.

Police have since confirmed the man suffered fatal injuries consistent with a shark bite.
There are reports the man may have been spearfishing when he was taken.
