Find your purrrrr-fect match this Valentine’s weekend at AWLQ

Close to 300 lonely hearts are waiting at AWLQ’s Rehoming Centres, hoping to find true love this Valentine’s Weekend.

AWLQ is reducing adoption fees by half, bringing adult cat adoption prices down to just $49.50 and adult dogs to $125 for this weekend only.

“We have many adult dogs and cats here at our Rehoming Centres for over 100 days, waiting for a family to come along and adopt them,” says AWLQ Communications Manager Zoe Hermans. “Our longest term dog is a beautiful black greyhound called Judi and she has been with us for 142 days. Our longest term cat, a black and white moggie called Zoe, 127 days.”

It is these animals, says Ms Hermans, which AWLQ are especially keen to get into homes this weekend and hope the ‘loving spirit’ of St Valentine’s Day will inspire the public to consider adopting. “Our animals stay with us for as long as it takes to find them a home,” Ms Hermans says. “So whilst they are in a safe and caring environment here with us, it is still not an ideal place for an animal to be long-term. Companion animals belong in homes with families and loving owners – not in shelters.”

AWLQ’s Valentine’s sale is on this weekend, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February. The Gold Coast Rehoming Centre (Shelter Road, Coombabah) is open 10am – 5pm each day and Beenleigh Rehoming Centre (Rossmans Road, Stayplton) is open 10am – 4pm each day.
