A FIRE has kicked up along the Pacific Motorway on the Gold Coast this afternoon.
It’s understood the blaze broke out shortly after 3pm alongside the southbound lanes at Ormeau, near Exit 45.
The fire has been contained, with firefighters still stationed around the motorway off-ramp.

It may cause some delay in the area, but at the moment all appears to be running smoothly.
It comes after M1 motorists reported spending two hours in queues from Brisbane to the Gold Coast this morning as the mass exodus from the G20 restriction zone began.
