Fisherman dies after getting washed from rocks in northern NSW

A man has tragically died after getting washed off the rocks while fishing in Lennox Head today.

Shortly before midday a man was fishing from rocks at Boulder Beach, when Police believe he was washed into the ocean.

Several surfers desperately attempted to save the man, by supporting him in the water on a surfboard.

They were able to get the unconscious man to the shore, before attempting to resuscitate him.

They were unsuccessful.

An investigation is now underway, and a report will be prepared for a Coroner.
