Food Recall: Chocolate coated fruit treats recalled over undeclared allergen

A popular brand of chocolate coated treats have been recalled due to the presence of an undeclared allergen.

Rhuby Delights says they are recalling their Rhuby Creations and Rhuby Delights products because they contain dairy, which is not listed on the packaging.

The products include Chocolate Coated Blackberries 80g, Chocolate Coated Blackcurrants 100g, Chocolate Coated Cherries 80g, Chocolate Coated Coffee Beans 125g, Chocolate Coated Raspberries 80g, Chocolate Coated Strawberries 80g, Chocolate Coated Sultanas 125g, Hot Chocolate and Rhubarb 100g.

The recall also involves the Multi-flavour 9pk, Original 3pk, Hint of orange 3pk, Hint of lime 3pk, Hint of ginger 3pk, Rhuby Delights Gift Box and Rhuby Delights Gift Hamper.

The treats, which have a best before date ending in either 2018 or 2019, have been available for sale at IGAs and independent retailers in NSW, QLD, VIC and TAS.

“Any consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” the recall notice reads.

People with a dairy allergy or intolerance are being urged not to consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
