Forensic search underway at former home of missing mother Lynette Dawson

The former home of missing Northern Beaches woman Lynette Dawson is currently being searched by detectives.

The 33-year-old mother of two girls vanished in 1982 and hasn’t been seen since.

Two separate inquests found that Mrs Dawson was murdered, however no charges have ever been laid due to a lack of evidence.

The cold case has gained worldwide attention in recent months due to a podcast named The Teachers Pet.

In a statement released on Wednesday, NSW police confirmed that detectives have begun a fresh forensic search at Mrs Dawson’s former home at Bayview today.

“As part of their ongoing commitment to providing answers to her family, Strike Force Scriven detectives have commenced a forensic search at Mrs Dawson’s former home,” the statement reads.

Detectives from the Homicide Squad’s Unsolved Homicide Unit established Strike Force Scriven in 2015 to re-investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and suspected murder of Lynette.
