Four arrested after drugs and weapons found at Southport home

FOUR men have been arrested and charged after police discovered drugs, weapons and cash at a property in Southport this morning.

Officers from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad Firearms Investigation Team raided the residence after information was provided to Crime Stoppers.

During the search, police allegedly uncovered a loaded shotgun, ammunition, a taser, drugs including cannabis and amphetamines, drug utensils and cash.

Police also allegedly located evidence of the supply of drugs including a high quality money counting machine.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, two counts of supply dangerous drugs, possession of proceeds of a drug offence, possession of property used in commission of a drug offence, possession of a drug utensil and permit place to be used for drug offence.

A 19-year-old and a 21-year-old male have both been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, two counts of supply dangerous drugs, possession of proceeds of a drug offence, possession of property used in commission of a drug offence, and possession of a drug utensil.

A 24-year-old man was given a notice to appear for possession of a category R weapon (taser).

All four men are expected to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court later this month.
