Le Blues were tipped as pre-tournament favourites but have struggled for consistency with their flashes of brilliance marred by lacklustre appearances against weaker sides.
The 1-0 scoreline is an accurate description of the match with Belgium’s “Golden Generation” now having to play for third place.

The win has caused chaos on the streets of France, with celebrations going long into the night for the 1998 champions.
French defender Samuel Umtiti scored the winning goal in the second half after an Antonine Greizmann corner.
They’ll play the winner of tonight’s match between England and Croatia.
