French teen arrested over school bomb threats

A French teenager has reportedly been arrested over a spate of recent school bomb threats that forced the evacuation of education facilities worldwide.

Vincent Lauton, described as a “young hacker”, was allegedly tracked down through his Internet IP address to his home in Dijon, eastern France.

The 18-year-old is currently being held and questioned by French police who have seized computer equipment from his home for examination.

In the past few weeks dozens of schools across Australia and overseas have received the same automated bomb threat message.
