G20: Russian president has left the country

2PM: CONTROVERSIAL Russian President Vladimir Putin has left Australia – the first world leader to do so following the international G20 summit in Brisbane.

The powerful leader flew out of Brisbane International Airport around 2pm after addressing Russian media at the Hilton. Australian media were banned from the press conference.

Putin told his state journalists that he was leaving G20 early ahead of a leaders luncheon on the basis he had a long flight ahead, needed sleep and had meetings to attend on Monday.

It’s going to be a very busy afternoon and evening at Brisbane Airport as more than a dozen world leaders fly out, including delegations from Germany, Indonesia, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, France, Argentina, China, New Zealand, South Africa, Turkey and Korea.
