THE United States military put on quite a show during last minute G20 practice in Brisbane yesterday when they inadvertently whipped up a wall of dust over an inner city motorway.
Two tilt-rotor Osprey aircraft and two VH-3D Sea King helicopters – also referred to as Marine One when transporting the president – were flown in on US military planes on Tuesday ahead of president Barack Obama’s arrival on Saturday.
The Osprey were taking off from and landing at Victoria Park in the inner city suburb of Herston on Wednesday when they brought traffic to a standstill after whipping up a massive dust cloud which drifted over an inner city bypass.
