It comes after the state government promised a measly $2.4 million to local leaders, despite damages already predicted in the $500 million area.
It’s understood Council is considering stumping up cash for local leaders as well, to help advertise more to domestic markets and make up for traffic lost from international markets.
Committee issues also set to be discussed include the refusal of the Ridong development.
Bushfire management in the City’s natural areas is also on the agenda, with council officers set to request a permanent back burning team for the Gold Coast.
Council would have to write to the state government for funding for six full-time firefighters, in a bid to prevent another crisis in the hinterland.
