GC600 construction: Motorists warned of partial lane closures

Motorists travelling through Main Beach this week are being warned they may experience some disruptions due to construction for the 2018 Gold Coast 600.

Supercars Gold Coast says the main impacts to local traffic will take place around Breaker St, Serisier Avenue, Hill Parade and Main Beach Parade, with works kicking off in the area from today.

It’s understood delays may be experienced from 7:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday, as crews begin setting up concrete barriers, debris fences and grandstands.

As school holidays also get underway this week, traffic control measures will be in place to ensure a smooth and safe journey around the construction.

“We are aware that Queensland school holidays have begun which impacts the volume of traffic around the project precinct,” Supercars Gold Coast says.

“As always, we have traffic control in place to manage this and keep traffic moving as best as we can.”
