GC’s top lifesavers picked for prestigious leadership camp

The Gold Coast’s 18 best and brightest lifesavers have been selected to take part in University of Queensland’s Surf Life Saving Leadership Excellence Program.

Our volunteers are among 45 from across the state who’ll attend the program which is focused on developing communication, teamwork and management skills.

SLSQ’s Development Manager Brenda Lofthouse said they’re investing in the future of the organisation.

“The challenge for us is to provide them with a clear pathway for progression as they move toward more senior roles at a club, regional, or state level,” she said.

The three-day program places a strong emphasis on the practical skills as well.
