George Calombaris to cook up a Greek feast at The Kitchens this Saturday!

Much-loved MasterChef judge and renowned restaurateur George Calombaris is set to make a welcome return to the Gold Coast this weekend when he visits The Kitchens to launch its autumn season.

Ahead of the highly anticipated return of MasterChef Australia 2017, George is taking some time out of his busy filming schedule to conjure up a mouth-watering Greek feast in front of his adoring Gold Coast fans at The Kitchens on Saturday, 18th March 2017. From 11.00 am, George will fire up at the cooking stage with a live cooking demonstration inspired by seasonal autumn produce, and also share his own personal tips for those wanting to recreate a Greek-style spread at home, too.

Spectators can also watch on via a live stream at the open kitchens as George shops his way around The Kitchens’ myriad of fresh food retailers and speciality stores, and picks up a few of his favourite ingredients that will star in his culinary creations.

While he’s in town, George will also be paying a visit to his Gold Coast souvlaki bar Jimmy Grants at The Kitchens where he will be sharing his exciting new menu items, including the Choc Top Baklava, the Americano souva – featuring succulent beef short rib – and the new ‘Almighty’ souva super-size.

“I’m so pumped to be heading back to Jimmy Grants and The Kitchens this month! For me, the Gold Coast is easily becoming one of the country’s most progressive food destinations, and The Kitchens is testament to this. There are so many talented chefs and restaurateurs that call the Gold Coast home and are constantly innovating and impressing with their food and dining concepts. It’s an honour to feature alongside so many of them at The Kitchens and I can’t wait to chat to some of the local foodies, too,” said George.

To celebrate George’s visit to the Gold Coast and The Kitchens, George is throwing a F.O.G. (Friends of George) party on Friday, 17th March from 5.30pm – 8.00pm, featuring a DJ on the decks, souvas off the spit, and cocktails. Three lucky The Kitchens customers will also win the chance to dine side-by-side with the celebrity chef at an exclusive autumn breakfast on Saturday morning.
