Get a cultural fix at these epic events on the GC today

It’s Fri-YAY, so why not kick start your weekend at one of the many cultural events happening around the city for the Games!

Festival 2018 and Bleach* Festival have a stack of epic performances and activations worth checking out today, and the majority of them are free.

Here is a list of some of the not-to-be-missed events on the GC today:


Yes, We Dance
What: Lose yourself in this humorous, revealing, uplifting and ecstatic dancing party as your neighbour, bricklayer, barista and local school teacher become dancing greats.

What: Celebrate the Commonwealth’s diverse spiritual traditions at a major concert event led by world-music legend Susheela Raman alongside artists from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Music, film and performance will also feature in a night devoted to creating connections.

What: A cultural celebration of local, traditional dance, singing, food, art, native flora and more at NightQuarter.

Silent Disco
What: This is a whole new level of silent disco – complete with a dazzling dance playlist, hilarious commentary from the Guru, flash mobbing, interpretative dancing around local landmarks.
