THERE is something for everyone in the latest City of Gold Coast ‘must do’ list of health and fitness activities, and the best bit is all of them are free or low-cost.
The newly launched Active & Healthy program features more than 170 fitness and wellbeing activities across the city each week.
Acting Mayor Donna Gates said the Active & Healthy program has been getting thousands of Gold Coasters up, out and active for nearly a decade.

“There’s something to suit every age group and ability, including activities specific to kids, seniors, parents with bubs and teenagers. All activities are free or low cost,” Cr Gates said.
“The emphasis is on energy and enjoyment. The activities are a fantastic way to increase wellbeing and a chance to meet new people and have a lot of fun.
“Our famous climate, beautiful parks and beaches combine with our sports fields and venues to create the ideal drawcard to live an active and healthy life.”

•Fitness activities including tai chi, yoga, group fitness, stroller groups, small sports, senior exercise classes and much more
•Sport and recreation activities such as walking and running groups, cycling workshops, skateboarding, parkruns and various sporting activities to try out
•Wellbeing and healthy cooking workshops and seminars
•New Yugambeh Mobo activities and events to connect residents to local Aboriginal stories, language, tastes and culture
•Nature based activities including Naturally GC workshops, community planting programs, beach care and workshops and programs at the Botanical Gardens[/signoff]
