THE Commonwealth Games opening ceremony has wrapped up.
A minute’s silence was held at Celtic Park on Thursday morning, Australian time.
Malaysia lost 43 people when flight MH-17 was shot down over east Ukraine last week, so Malaysian athletes carried their flag at half mast out of respect.

The Queen drew cheers from the 41-thousand strong crowd as she entered the stadium and officially opened the Games.
Singers Rod Stewart and Susan Boyle performed before the National Anthen was sung.
About half of the Australian team, numbering more for 400, marched behind flag bearer and champion cyclist Anna Meares.
Gold Coast swimmer Mel Schlanger was back in the Athletes Village during the opening ceremony. She had to get ready for her event tonight.
Mel will be in the pool for the 4x100m freestyle relay. When asked who her main competitor would be, she replied confidently “no one”.
Also tonight Mel’s fiancé Chris Wright will line up for the 50m butterfly, Leiston Pickett will compete in the 50m breaststroke.
While Emma Moffatt will take part in the Women’s Triathlon from 8pm.
