Air Asia X has today announced a new direct flight route between Kuala Lumpur, Gold Coast and Auckland, which will commence 22 March 2016.
Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer Marion Charlton said they are very excited about the announcement.
“Our Business Development and Marketing team have been working closely with AirAsia X to bring this service to fruition,” Ms Charlton said.

“The Gold Coast community is familiar with AirAsia X and the variety of destinations they offer by flying via Kuala Lumpur, as such, we are confident this route will perform strongly both from an inbound and outbound perspective.
“The commencement of this daily service is a demonstration of AirAsia X’s commitment to the South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales regions,” Ms Charlton said.
The services will be operated by an A333, offering daily flight services between Kuala Lumpur – Gold Coast – Auckland – Gold Coast – Kuala Lumpur.
“We look forward to the success of this new Trans-Tasman service and are confident South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales residents will take advantage of some great sale fares on offer,” said Ms Charlton.
