Gold Coast Aquatic Centre open to the public this Saturday

THIS SATURDAY the $41 million Gold Coast Aquatic Centre will open its doors for the first time to the Gold Coast public.

A huge pool party is planned for the opening, as well as a Guiness World Record attempt for the most number of bathing caps worn in one location.

Over 2050 locals will need to cap up in order to break the record set by Georgia in the USA for 2049 people.

The pool party promises to be fun for all ages with with music, fun family activities, aquatic demonstrations and meet-and-greet with athletes planned for the day.

Gold Coasters can also enrol in regular swim-school programs at the event.

The opening of the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre is on Saturday, 13 September 2014 from 9:30am to 12pm. It is free to attend.
