Author Encounter: Gregory P. Smith – Out of the Forest
This June sees the release of ‘Out of the Forest’, an extraordinary memoir by Gregory P. Smith, published by Penguin Random House.
Gregory’s childhood was brimming with violence, abuse and confusion. After fluctuating between employment and homelessness as an adult, he decided to give it all up and retreat into the forest outside Mullumbimby where he lived in isolation for almost a decade.
When he emerged, emaciated and close to death, Gregory decided it was time to turn his life around. Today, Gregory has a PhD in Sociology and teaches at Southern Cross University.
Join Gregory as he discusses his incredible story at Robina Library on Thursday 14 June from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Copies of the book will be available to buy at the event from Book Face bookstore, based at Pacific Fair.
