Caring For Cassy Trivia Night
On 25th June 2018, my best friend Cassy Collins, suddenly suffered from a severe stroke. Cassy is just 39yrs old, a wife and mother to a beautiful 7yr old boy Jayden who has Cerebal Palsy. Jayden is non-verbal and requires a lot of full time care which Cassy provided to him with so much love.
Cassy and her families world has been turned upside down in the face of this tragic event and her family and friends are desperately rallying around her and her family to help. Cassy’s husband Mick has been a tower of strength. He has had to resign from his job and is now facing a lifetime of having to care for both Jayden and Cassy. Cassy has suffered severe brain damage and paralysis from her stroke and though it is still early days and she is fighting like hell to get back to us, it is likely she will have permanent damage and require full time care alongside her son.
On 11th August 2018, her family and friends will be hosting a Trivia Night at The Well Community Centre, Upper Coomera. The purpose of the trivia night is for us to raise as many funds as we can for Mick to support him in being able to;
1. Pay his ongoing living expenses while he is going through the process of trying to get on a Carer Payment for Cass
2. Pay for changes to his home in preparation for Cassy coming home including wheelchair access, hand rails, and other medical equipment Cassy will need
3. Assist mick in being able to get a new car which will allow for two wheelchairs for both Cassy and Jayden.
We have managed to secure some amazing donations from local Gold Coast Companies to use as prizes for the Trivia Night, there will be live entertainment, nibblies and drinks can be purchased at the venue.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $20 and we are looking for trivia teams of 6 people (max 8).
The more people we can have attending this event, the more money we can raise for Cassy and her family so please get your friends and family together and join us for a fun night of trivia, all for a worthy cause.
