A walk through the aisles of the Food & Wine Expo will take you to some of the most renowned wineries of Australia, where you can sample award winning wines and learn about the wine making process. Anyone new to the wine drinkers scene can learn the difference between a Shiraz and a Merlot, develop their palate and enjoy all that Australian and International wine has to offer. Celebrity Cooking Stage: Enjoy free cooking demonstrations from MASTERCHEF and MY KITCHEN RULES Celebrities plus local talent on the ever vibrant and entertaining Main Stage. Grab a front row seat, sit back, relax and watch the best celebrity chefs in the business create their favourite recipes – an interactive cooking show not to be missed! With a succulent Six-course 2hour degustation menu each paired with a matching wine, this is the menu of the year with the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal to learn all Ben’s secrets in cooking and more. Appreciation Area: Taste, sample and learn an appreciation for finer tastes. These FREE classes include wine, liqueur and cheese classes. With non-stop sessions running throughout the expo, there is definitely something for everyone to indulge, and there’s always something new to learn! These classes are a perfect opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ – but get in early, there’s only 40 seats per session and it’s first in best dressed!
Barossa: Nothing compares to a long weekend away in Australia’s most prestigious wine region, but if you haven’t quite made it there, The Food and Wine Expo brings the best of the Barossa to you with the Barossa Feature Area! Complete with a community vibe and personality to match, this area boasts the best wine makers of the region. Take a walk through the Barossa and sample the best wines South Australia has to offer!
Andrew Peace Oyster Bar: If you’ve shopped till you’re about to drop, take a seat in the Andrew Peace Oyster Bar. The bar is situated right in front of the Main Stage so you won’t miss a recipe, and there are Gold Coast fresh oysters and chilled sparkling Andrew Peace wines to your hearts content. MEET THE FOOD & WINE EXPO CELEBRITIES …
Ben Milbourne appeared on MasterChef 2012. In the years since the TV juggernaut, Milbourne has produced two cookbooks – Mexican Craving and Tasmanian Trail – and travelled the country and the world. Ben now has his own TV show on Channel 10, ‘Ben’s Menu’, which was nominated for a Logie! This exciting foodie series is filmed at Ben’s picturesque farmhouse in northwest Tasmania. Tasia and Gracia are the winner of 2016 My Kitchen Rules. There is no doubt that Tasia and Gracia Seger, also known as the “Spice Queens”, love their chillies. They specialise in Asian food, especially cooking their heritage of Indonesian cuisine. However having grown up in Indonesia, India and Australia, Tasia and Gracia like to incorporate international influences in their cooking. They are constantly developing new fusions within traditional Asian cooking, combining innovative dishes and modernizing plating. Their most used ingredients: chilli, garlic, onion, shallots and rice — are reflective of their Asian heritage
Carly and Tresne won the hearts of Australians on My Kitchen Rules 2014. With their resilient natures, positive attitudes and down to earth personalities, they became an inspiration to many Australians. Taking success in their stride they are motivating others, especially while conducting The Happiness Mission wellbeing workshops.
