Mateship Run 2018
More than 700 people will pound the pavement in the fourth annual Mateship Run on the Gold Coast on Saturday 10 November 2018.
Held along the Currumbin foreshore, the event will see community participants and returned servicemen and women unite to raise funds for young local veterans. The fun run and walk is an opportunity to come together and recognise the extraordinary contribution our armed services make – past and current.
The Mateship Run has become an iconic part of remembrance celebrations for the Gold Coast and provides an opportunity for all ages and fitness levels to run, walk or push distances including a 10km Run, 5km Walk or Run, 1.5km Currumbin RSL Community Walk or 1.5km Junior Bolt. Invictus Games gold medallist and Gold Coast local, Dean Knobel, will be the official race starter on the day.
The Young Veterans Support Services (YVSS) organisation provides younger veterans with access to a range of services and activities that help with the challenges of transitioning to civilian life. This includes programs that offer social, education and employment opportunities, and improved physical and psychological health and wellbeing.
Participants of all ages, sizes and fitness levels are encouraged to enter in the walk or run with friends, family and work colleagues as we celebrate the camaraderie and mateship of our heroes.
