Musical Fairytales
HOTA And Queensland Symphony Orchestra Present
Musical Fairytales
You only have to look at current hit TV shows Once Upon A Time and Grimm to see that fairytales will always be popular. The Romantic composers knew this years ago so made sure many of their large-scale classics had a liberal sprinkling of sprites, wraiths and princesses.
This concert features four fairytale-inspired pieces to rouse the imagination including: Tchaikovsky’s elegant, lush ballet Sleeping Beauty; Strauss’ waltz Fairytales from the Orient; Prokofiev’s irresistible Cinderella; and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade (which is a must for fans of Aladdin and The Arabian Nights).
