Opening weekend fun at Smith Collective
Friday Night Bites 26 Oct 5pm – 9pm | Family Fun Day Sat 27 Oct 10am – 3pm
The Gold Coast’s newest urban hub will explode to life this weekend [October 26-27] when Smith Collective throws open its doors for the first time.
Located on the site of the former Commonwealth Games Athletes Village, the $550 million residential and retail development will one day be home to about 2500 people but for now, is hosting a range of events to give the public a taste of the good times to come.
The launch weekend festivities will commence with Smith Collective Friday Night Bites, a four-hour session of live music, food truck feeds and a pop-up bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including frosty beverages from Burleigh Brewing Co.
Held in Smith Collective’s stunning Village Heart, the free ticketed event is the perfect Friday night outing for adults and older children.
Saturday [October 27] will then see 3000 people take over the Village Heart and adjacent parklands for the Smith Collective Family Fun Day.
Good times are guaranteed, with the combination of live music, magician Magic Mike and the Street Science Team certain to draw crowds to the main stage and face-painting, a jumping castle, interactive Lego area and baby animal farm to keep children smiling.
A wide array of food trucks will also be on-site.
Another Smith Collective Family Fun Day will be held on November 10, while Friday Night Bites will return on November 9, November 23 and December 7.
