FIREFIGHTERS from the Gold Coast have travelled to the southern downs to relieve exhausted colleagues.
Existing crews will finally get a break after five intensive days at Ballandean, south of west of Boonah.
Crews from the New South Wales rural fire service and Ipswich are also involved in relief efforts.

The blaze continues to burn out of control and has devastated more than four thousand hectares of land.
