Gold Coast man, 22, charged with ‘Habitual Consorting’

AN alleged Bandidos prospect has been charged for allegedly consorting with several members of the bikie gang.

The 22-year-old man from Main Beach was arrested by members of State Crime Command’s Taskforce Maxima on Thursday and charged with breach of bail and one count of habitual consorting.

Police allege the man had been consorting with several members of the gang.

“In addition, it is alleged he has breached conditional bail (for offences including going armed in public),” police said in a statement.

The man is due to appear in Southport Court today.

Detective Inspector Stephen Blanchfield of the Organised Crime Gangs Group said “This is one of many of these charges we expect to make in the near future and is part of our commitment to seek out those who continue to consort to try and develop their criminal networks and maintain an OMCG presence in our community.”
