A MAN has been charged over the alleged horrific assault of a seven-month-old baby girl on the Gold Coast.
The 29-year-old man was arrested by detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit on Thursday following an ongoing investigation.
The alleged assault is understood to have happened at a home in Robina on July 11.

Police say the baby sustained “serious head injuries”, allegedly consistent with being shaken, and was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The man, believed to be the infant’s father, has since been charged with grievous bodily harm.
He is due to face the Southport Magistrates Court on November 13.
