WOMEN’s World Wakeboarding champion Courtney Angus will deliver an aerial assault on the Sunshine Coast this weekend after already blitzing international competition in 2014.
The 21-year-old Gold Coast athlete has been unbeatable on the World stage, claiming every title available throughout France and the United States.
Major competition victories included a clean-sweep of the coveted Triple Crown Series, A US Nationals title, plus Fise and Wake in Beach French crowns from her summer assault.

To cap off a stellar season, Angus was also recognised within the wakeboarding industry, claiming the coveted international Queen of the cable title.
“It’s been a total wipeout season and I couldn’t be happier leading into next month’s Worlds where I’ll look to defend my title for the first time in Abu Dhabi,” said Angus.
“The successes from last year have driven me even harder to introduce new tricks and manoeuvres.
“That’s been the key to how much success I’ve enjoyed this year; I always put in the super hard work at training and push the limits in every competition.”
Despite the next four weeks back in Australia being reserved for rest and recuperation before the World Titles, the call of the Bli Bli Wake Park social event this weekend proved too strong.
Angus will also spend a week with family on the Gold Coast before fine tuning many of her world-beating aerial routines at Penrith’s Cables Wake Park before her next all-important international assignment on November 5-7.
“The international women’s competition has grown by a ridiculous amount this season which makes it even more competitive so you really have to be on your game,” added Angus.
“Last season there were probably three or four of us who were always in the mix, but this year there’s usually up to 12 girls who are more than capable on the day.
“That’s exactly what the sport needs and it makes winning events even more satisfying.
“I’ve been riding full-on for the last six months so plan to get my body back to where it needs to be to ensure I can go back-to-back in Abu Dhabi.”
Added to the break-out season which Angus has enjoyed in 2014, she’s also looking forward to introducing her own signature Hyperlite pro-model wakeboard and Fox Sports boardshort line that are both currently in production.
