Gold Coast woman’s lightning strike scare during shower

A woman has received quite the shock while taking a shower at a home on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

Just after midday, paramedics were called to a house in Hollywell after reports lightning had struck the property whilst the woman was showering.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC that the woman “felt a tingle”.

She was assessed at the scene, however thankfully managed to escape uninjured.

As a precaution, the woman was taken to Robina Hospital in a stable condition.

The incident occurred as a brief storm rolled over the northern Gold Coast on Thursday, with up to 52 millimetres of rain falling at Coomera Shores in just one hour.
