A Gold Coast local has fallen in love with her Worongary home after she was able to complete a much-needed renovation thanks to LJ Hooker and Home Renovators Warehouse.
Last year, Rhonda Grehan was thrilled to score $10,000 to renovate her home after entering a competition on the myGC.com.au website.
“I couldn’t believe I had won this amazing prize! It really was a dream come true,” she said.

“The house was dated and desperately in need of patching and painting as there were water stains and holes in the ceilings and walls from water leaks. The old timber floating floor was scratched and it was starting to discolour from years of wear and tear.”
After a visit to Home Renovators Warehouse, Rhonda decided to install real timber floors, as well as paint the walls and ceilings.
“Sam from Home Renovators Warehouse was very helpful,” said Rhonda. “She let us take floor samples home to try out and also ordered the floors and had them delivered to us. Everytime we went into the store she was very helpful and was available to chat when I would ring to ask her a question.”
Prior to starting the renovations, Alex Bally from LJ Hooker appraised Rhonda’s home at $510,000 to $530,000. With the renovations now complete, Alex has revalued the home to be between $560,000 to $570,000.
“Alex Bally from LJ Hooker phoned to organise an appraisal and this was done promptly and efficiently,”said Rhonda.
“Once the renovations were done he was also very willing and available to come back as soon as possible to assist and do another appraisal.”
Rhonda told myGC she feels so thankful and lucky she won the prize.
“I really can’t thank LJ Hooker and Home Renovators Warehouse enough,” she said.
“I am able to finally feel proud of my home and it is a joy to come home to such a beautiful place. I want to thank both for contributing to this magnificent prize and for all the support and help I have received since winning the $10,000 home renovators prize! I want to also thank MY GC and Hot Tomato for their involvement as well.”
