Gold Coast’s biggest internet bingers

New statistics from Telstra has revealed Gold Coasters are some of Australia’s biggest data users.

According to a report which used data from July 2017 to July 2018, residents in Upper Coomera clocked up the second most in the country.

Ormeau rounded out the top 10 suburbs in Australia, finishing ninth.

The rest of the State was heavily represented with six suburbs in the top 10.

Telstra’s Head of Fixed Products, Jane Kotatko said the surge isn’t suprising.

“Australians are streaming more content than ever before at home,” she said.

“Netflix, Stan, Foxtel Now, SBS on Demand, and all the other streaming services now available provide access to the most popular movies and TV shows as well as a host of other niche programming – there’s something for everyone these days.”
