A man and woman, dubbed the Gold Coast’s own ‘Bonnie and Clyde’, have been jailed over the terrifying armed hold-up of a bank in Burleigh Heads last year.
Darren Baxter and Shayde Hodgson-Gulson are accused of storming the Suncorp bank at Stocklands Burleigh on September 26, 2019 while armed with a gun.
The pair allegedly threatened the attendant with the firearm, before making their escape on a motorbike with the stolen $5000.

Following a major manhunt and public appeal, the duo were taken into custody three days later after they were tracked down at a luxury hotel in Broadbeach.
Baxter, 31, was charged with one count each of armed robbery, possessing metheylamphetamine and possessing drug utensils.
On Thursday, he was sentenced via video link in Southport District Court to six years behind bars, with eligibility for parole in June next year.
His co-accused, 23-year-old Hodgson-Gulson, was charged with one count of armed robbery and today sentenced to 4.5 years in jail.
She will be eligible for parole in December this year.
