Golden team heads home

The Australian Swim Team will arrive back in Australia today. With the swimming wrapped-up at the Commonwealth Games, the stars are now preparing for the Pan Pacs on the Gold Coast next month.

Australia has picked up one gold so far on Day Eight of the games in Glasgow.

Wheelchair racer Angela Ballard won the women’s 1500 metre event.

Fellow Australian Kurt Fearnley was gunning for gold but had to settle for silver in the men’s race.

Queenslander Larrissa Miller won our second gymnastics medal, with silver in the uneven bars.

Defending weightlifting champion Damon Kelly has scored bronze in the men’s 105 kilo plus event.

At the lawn bowls, Australia has won silver, losing to England in the final of the women’s triples.

The Kookaburra’s have scored a Five-nil win over Scotland.
