GRIDLOCK: Crash brings traffic to a standstill on M1

MOTORISTS are being urged to avoid the Pacific Motorway southbound with traffic at a complete standstill following a single-vehicle crash.

The accident happened between Exit 62 at Helensvale and Exit 66 at Smith Street, around 10.00am.

One person was treated at the scene by paramedics and has since been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.


The Department of Transport and Main Roads says at least one lane has been blocked.

Drivers are being urged to delay travel or seek alternative routes with lengthy delays expected.
