Hackers not to blame for Health Minister’s Twitter porn ‘like’, police say

Australian Federal Police have confirmed Health Minister Greg Hunt’s Twitter account was not hacked.

Minister Hunt approached police last year and requested an investigation into his social media account be conducted after his account was caught liking a pornographic tweet.

AFP commissioner Andrew Colvin told a Senate estimates hearing in Canberra on Wednesday that an investigation found no criminal activity.

“The account was not hacked in a criminal sense,” Mr Colvin said.

The Commissioner urged people to ensure their social media security is up to date.

“I think social media hygiene is an issue that we all need to be very conscious of,” he said.

“That is about who has access to your Twitter account, how many people have access, do you know who has access to your Twitter account.”
