Man wanted for murder could be on the Gold Coast

UPDATE @ July 18, 6.45 AM | Locals are being urged to keep their eyes open for a wanted man who police believe could be hiding on the Gold Coast.

Kye Enright, 21, is wanted on an arrest warrant in relation to the murder of a man in a hotel carpark at Plainland in the Lockyer Valley on July 1.

Police believe Mr Enright is being hidden from authorities by a network of associates, and have warned that anyone “harbouring this person is committing an offence and is liable to prosecution.”

“We are aware that Enright is being assisted by male and female associates. They utilise motels, hotels, AirBnB and hire car companies and this stretches from northern NSW through to the Sunshine Coast,” Detective Inspector Damien Hansen said at a press conference on Wednesday.

“He’s got a lot of ties, a lot of close associates and we’re well aware of those associates and they are protecting him at this stage but there is a warrant, he will be arrested when he’s located.”

Detective Hansen said Mr Enright is likely living off the proceeds of crime.

“He’s got no lawful means of making a living and I’d suggest he’s living off the proceeds of crime,” he said.

“Anyone who’s assisting him think twice because they will be committing offences.”

A 26-year-old man has already been charged with murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of supplying a dangerous drug and armed robbery over the fatal altercation.

Anyone who sees Mr Enright is being warned not to approach him, but to call Triple Zero immediately.
