Hawks claim AFL grand final victory

HAWTHORN has become the first team to claim back-to-back AFL premierships in 11 years.

It comes after a thumping 63 point win over the Sydney Swans at the MCG.

In front of just over 99,000 fans, the 137 to 74 victory was the most lopsided premiership since Geelong’s record 119-point pummelling of Port Adelaide 7 years ago.

Hawks skipper Luke Hodge was a standout performer, collecting the Norm Smith Medal for best-on-ground.

Hawks superstar Jarryd Roughead also played well, scratching up five goals for his side.

Swans Coach John Longmire was left shaking his head, saying nothing went right for his team.
